HYBRID THEATRE ENSEMBLE'S SILENT ART AUCTION FUNDRAISER PARTIALLY BENEFITING THE TREVOR PROJECT
(NOVEMBER 11 2011, BRAD'S AT NYU)
On November 11, 2011, Hybrid Theatre Ensemble will be holding a fundraiser at Brad's at NYU. In efforts to raise funds for our upcoming production, "Beneath the Skin" premiering in February of 2011, the fundraiser will consist of a silent auction from various artists across the country and local NYC businesses--paintings, prints, jewelry, clothing, various artwork, and gift certificates will be up for auction. In addition, raffles and special "mystery" prizes will be given away. Not to mention, drink specials will be going on all night from 8pm to 12am courtesy of Brad's at NYU.
Also, due to the rise of suicide rates among LGBTQ youth, Hybrid will be donating a portion of the night's proceeds to The Trevor Project to aid in crisis intervention and suicide prevention within the young LGBTQ community. Hybrid will also be filming footage for a compilation video for the "It Gets Better" campaign. For more information on The Trevor Project, please visit www.thetrevorproject.org.

CAUGHT IN THE ACT. THE SPIDER'S RELEASE
(APRIL 2011, ICOSAHEDRON GALLERY)
Tying in with Icosahedron Gallery's Surrealist exhibition, "A Foot in the Grave II", Caught in the Act explores the psyche of the animal mind through textiles, gestural movement, and a blending of the spider with humanistic qualities. This surrealist piece transforms Icosahedron's Main Gallery into a spiderweb where viewers are literally caught in the act.
Conceived by Philip Sy Zisman
Performed by Elina Zavala
THE GARDEN SERIES: SPRING REMEMBRANCE OR THE DEATH OF WINTER
(MARCH 2011, ICOSAHEDRON GALLERY)
Continuing with Hybrid's partnership with Icosahedron Gallery, The Garden Series uses the ethereal breath of the Spring to welcome the change of seasons. The Garden Series brings the outdoors indoors offering viewers an imaginary journey from the harsh bitter winter into the florally majestic, lush, and multicolored landscape within the gallery space. The Garden Series is an exploration inviting viewers to become the viewees through a dichotomy of the fantastic and reality.

LOVE.LET.GO A SERIES OF SIMULTANEOUS SENSORY PERFORMANCES
(FEBRUARY 2011, ICOSAHEDRON GALLERY)
Love. Let Go. is an installational performance piece centered around the five senses: taste, sight, touch, smell, and sound. Using Icosahedron Gallery as the perfect backdrop with its 3,000 square foot gallery space, each viewer chooses his or her own journey among the five various gallery rooms. HYBRID'S FUNDRAISING BENEFIT FOR HAITI
(FEBRUARY 2010, MADCAP THEATRES)
As a 7.0MW earthquake left hundreds of thousands dead and/or injured and over one million Haitians homeless, Hybrid organized its first benefit in order to aid relief efforts. The night brought local Phoenician artists together for a night of stand up comedy from Andrea Ridgeway and live music from Grace Rolland, Joanna Emmott, Dan Roth, and Zac Yurkovic. The night also consisted of a silent auction featuring works of art by Anne Hightower Wareing, Aaron Wester, Sam Wilkes, Wrara Plesoiu, and many more. Finally, the night culminated in a date auction of local actors. Hybrid's benefit raised a great deal of money to aid relief efforts and support local theatre.
BEAUTIFICATION STREET PERFORMANCE
(FEBRUARY 2009, ROOSEVELT ROW--PHOENIX, AZ)
With Hybrid's innaugural show, Beautification. A Transcultural Exploration of the Oppression of Women, the company took to the streets of Roosevelt Row's First Friday, a monthly outing of art, galleries, music, and street performance. The actresses showcased the opening choreographed sequence of the show every hour on the hour throughout the night. Between these hourly viewings, the women swarmed the streets portraying scenes of oppressive situations as male onlookers fueled the oppressive world the women created. This performance served as experiment proving the ideas of misogyny and male chauvinism.
